Annual Meeting, Installation & President's Awards

All Members are invited for the Chamber's annual report, installation of the new Board of Directors, and to celebrate the winners of the President's business awards.

Annual recognition of our West Volusia teachers that go above and beyond in educating and preparing our students for success in our future workforce. Each year up to 40 nominees and 4 Crystal Apple Award winners are honored. All nominees and winners receive generous gifts donated from the business community.

State of the City: DeBary                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

The State of the City features an annual address from the Mayor of DeBary as the city reflect on its achievements of the past year, and shares visioning plans for the future.

West Volusia State of the Region                                                                                                                                                                                                  The annual West Volusia State of the Region brings together the Mayors of our 6 municipalities for an informative Q&A panel discussion moderated by our Government Affairs Committee.

Alternating Years

The chamber Hob Nob, held every other year, offers West Volusia voters an opportunity to meet the political candidates from local, state, and national levels that will impact our community. Attendees may vote in the Straw Poll conducted by the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections.

Mega Mixer                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          

As a member of the Volusia County Chamber Alliance, DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce participates in an annual Mega Mixer and expo for the members of the 5 chambers in the Alliance. This event is held in East Volusia at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.

Leadership West Volusia                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

Leadership West Volusia, a partnership between DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce and Stetson University, brings together both current and emerging leaders for an in-depth study of our local economy. Through study of leadership best practices, panel discussions and field studies with various industries, graduates of this program are fully prepared to be effective regional leaders. Students may also work toward and earn a Leadership Certificate within this class. Alumni are encouraged to attend the annual Class Graduation Ceremony and volunteer with future classes.

School of Government                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce hosts a 6-month School of Government program with our partners, Volusia County Schools, City of DeLand, City of Orange City and City of DeBary. West Volusia high school juniors and seniors learn about local government in an interactive hands-on curriculum, culminating in a 3-day field trip to our state capital. Students are recognized with a graduation ceremony and awarded a School of Government certificate.

School of Excellence Awards                                                                                                                                                                                                         

DeLand & Greater West Volusia Chamber of Commerce awards up to four West Volusia schools each year for high achievements in education. A recognition ceremony is held at each recipient school by our Chamber Education Committee. Schools receive an award plaque, banner, and a monetary gift for supplies or staff recognition.
